Top places to visit when traveling through the Okinawa islands? |
Travel Info I'm planning a trip to Japan and want to make my way through the Okinawa islands. With a limited amount of time (1 week max) what are the best islands/towns/places to visit? Travel Tips I stayed at Yuron island when I was in Okinawa. This is a very lovely island with only one hotel. You can get there by a four hour ferry ride from Naha. On the island we rented bicyles and rode around the island. Nice! Others Naha is an interesting place, you should start there, particularly if you don't speak Japanese, because there is a huge US military base there, and most of the places are used to dealing with americans. Shuri castle on Naha is definately worth going to, and there are some good beaches and interesting shopping districts. |
