Is living in south korea (food, gifts, etc.) cheaper than in the u.s.?

Travel Tips
Seoul? NO. If you wanna live in Seoul with a hobbit life style it can be cheap. But any where in korea besides seoul is not that bad. But things that you are used to will cost a lot more. If you embrace the culture and live with in your means you will be ok. Whoa and also the WON is making come back against the dollar. Source(s): I live in Seoul and CNN

Other Travel Tips
yes. you can sort of gain an overview through some statistical data such as GDP, in which U.S surpasses Korea by far.
Some things are much cheaper than the U.S. most things from the markets, fresh fruit and vegetables. A lot of handmade gift type things are cheap also. The literal cost of living housing, bills, is expensive to average compared to where one calls home in the U.S. Dining out at korean restaurants in very inexpensive.
Surely, but it is no as easy as in the US to get some money in south korea.
depends on if you are talking about seoul or the rest of the country. seoul is not cheap at all. more expensive than all but 2 u.s. cities. but the countryside is probably cheaper than most places in the u.s. except oklahoma.
personal experience, i live in seoul
