Travel Info I've never been to Las Vegas. What's the first thing I should see and/or do? Travel Tips The coolest way to get around the strip now is the new monorail which stops at enough places to see the entire strip as well as the excellent Hilton just off the strip. You can buy a ticket good for several days of unlimited rides. Must see places: Interior of the Luxor Pyramid Cocktail waitresses at Mandalay Bay Chihuly glass sculptures and garden in the Bellagio Bellagio Fountain Show The Forum Shops at Caesars The mall at the Alladin The themed casinos at NYNY and Paris The extra cheesy, lame, yet fun interior of Excalibur The awesome Sports Book spot in the Hiltonhttp://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-28... Depending on how long you are staying. Make sure to stay in one of the casinos on the strip (where most of the big casinos are located). Then just go and visit them one by one. There are plenty of free attractions/shows like the Bellagio's water fountain, Mirage's volcano, Treasure Island's Pirate show, etc. Get a schedule of the shows and plan your route. The hotels usually have magazines in the room or you can do the planning at home. Try to go see at least one of the production shows. During the day, if you are not gambling, you can drive to near by places like Hoover Dam and the canyons. Tiger He's answer is excellent. I was just there 2 weeks ago and recommend you stay on the strip rather than downtown, though try to visit the Fremont Street Light show at night. http://usa3.com/lasvegas/ Some neat activities: Bellagio Fountains, Bellagio Museum of Art $15, Venetian Canals and Opera show, Mirage Volcano, Aladdin indoor thunderstorm (just OK), Live Lions at MGM, Sirens show at TI, Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas $9, Stratosphere Rides, Hilton Star Trek Experience. If you are on a tight budget consider attending a timeshare presentation and getting cheap or free show tickets. (Unless you buy the timeshare in which case you've been hosed!) take some virtual tours of hotels and things to do on http://www.destination360.com.
