Travel Info Please Pure Answers Travel Tips Hizballah was formed in 1982 in response to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, this Lebanon-based radical Shi鈥檃 group takes its ideological inspiration from the Iranian revolution and the teachings of the late Ayatollah Khomeini. The Majlis al-Shura, or Consultative Council, is the group鈥檚 highest governing body and is led by Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. Hizballah is dedicated to liberating Jerusalem and eliminating Israel and has formally advocated ultimate establishment of Islamic rule in Lebanon. Nonetheless, Hizballah has actively participated in Lebanon鈥檚 political system since 1992. Hizballah is closely allied with, and often directed by, Iran but has the capability and willingness to act alone. Although Hizballah does not share the Syrian regime鈥檚 secular orientation, the group has been a strong ally in helping Syria advance its political objectives in the region. Thats the facts. Toushka Others I dislike any organization that is terrorist in its purpose to the detriment of another people. We're supposed to like soldiers who use innocent bystanders to protect themselves????? Hezbollah wiped out US marines there, they don't negotiate fairly, they use terrorist tactics on innocents, they seek anarchy at the expense of common citizens. It seems from over here that Hezbollah is just a viscious group of miscreants who are basically unhappy with their lives and blame others for it, young males are taken advantage of to be a killing force instead of being good, kind, productive citizens. One shouldn't murder for 72 virgins, one should live their life in the present and be a good kind person in this life. Life is meaningless to terrorists. From a distance, God wants us all to get along. The Koran forbids murdering innocents. Hezbollah is regarded as a resistance/freedom movement by Arabs. However, there is no denying the fact that they are involved in violence & assassination. Hezbollah justify their actions as response to Israel's expansionist & pro-Jew activities. You can't fight fire with fire. You can say they are good & bad. Good, because they want ownership of a land they believe is rightfully theirs & also for promoting women's rights unlike other Islamic groups. Bad, because of their violence & anti-Jew activities. First of all people...Hizbollah are not a terrorist group...they are Lebanese from the South defending their land. I don't like them or dislike them...I agree with them sometimes and I disagree some other times...but they don't scare me, like most people think they are uncivilised uneducated people...well FYI they are one of the most educated people and they are quite smart sometimes. For the guy who brought up the Marines issue...what were the Marines doing in Lebanon in the first place...and why were 250 Marines sleeping inthe same place that night, it is against policy to have the whole platoon in the same place because of such fears as bombing. I'm not saying that I agree with their believes and plans though...but if you listen to what they say sometimes, they have good strong points, but what I don't like is who their allies are. EDIT Ghanouge, does the one with the most thumbs down nail the question like last time? cuz I've done it again, so far... :(... crying i agree with kate but why don't they be part of the Lebanese army |
