Does anyone have tips for taking a toddler (18 months) to Disneyland? We're staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

Looking for stroller & ride strategies. Also Fast Pass and other tips. Can you suggest any "can't miss" shows or attractions for kids this age?

Travel Tips
The key is to arrive early and bug out of there before the crowds arrive. Since you're staying at the Disneyland Hotel you'll have a pass to get into the park an hour before it opens. Get a banana in the kid and be there and ready to go when they open the gates. Once you're in the park head straight to Fantasyland knock out Dumbo, Casey Jr., Peter Pan, and the others and then go over to the Plaza by TomorrowLand for a breakfast buffet with Minney, Cpt Hook, and others.

After breakfast go to Autotopia and then take the train over to New Orleans Square. From there walk over to Pooh corner for the Pooh ride and an opportunity to meet all the Pooh characters.

Other stuff your 18 month old will enjoy include Tarzan's treehouse, the Jungle Cruise, the Jasmine and Alladin show, Small World, and all of ToonTown. Forget Pirates and the Haunted Mansion. Too dang much for an 18-month old.

The critical thing is to get there early, do what you can before lunch and then head back to the hotel for a nap. After the nap you can grab dinner in Downtown Disney and then back in the park after dark for the fireworks and parade. Finally, be sure to get a stroller -- $7/day, easiest place is inside the store at the exit to Space Mtn.

One other important thing is to call for restaurant reservations before you go. A great one is to have lunch at the Blue Bayou.

Pace yourself. Keep your kid well fed. And have fun. Source(s): http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyla...

Most of the same applies to you.

Be sure to come back to the room and let the toddler nap and then go play in the pool. Don't overdue the sugar.

Try not to stray to far from your normal schedule of food and sleep. Disneyland may be what Las Vegas is to Adults but try not to let them or yourself push it to far.

Have fun!
I found it difficult when I took 3 of my children to Disneyland when one of them were toddler age. I vacationed with my 8, 5 and 2 year old a few years ago and it was just way more stress then what i paid for!! Well actually it seemed the more money spent the longer the ride! Personally, I find that the Mc Donalds play gym was way more enjoyable!!
