Travel Info Are there any interesting places to visit on a 10 hour stop over in KL, malaysia and Hongkong..? Travel Tips The high-speed train to the main train station in KL takes 45-60 minutes, from there you could change to the metro, and go directly to KLCC. The Petronas Towers are right above the KLCC metro station. Visits to the glass bridge connecting both towers are for free, but tickets are only available for certain time-slots. I had no problem getting a ticket for the next time-slot when I arrived there. Two or three stops from the train station there is also Chinatown and nearby, you will also find some colonial buildings (near the city park). Walking to those is possible, but sometimes tricky to find, with highways, trains etc. criss-crossing the place. For Hong Kong, you could try to climb Victoria Peak, for a nice loook. There's also a tram going up there. Take the bus down. Then walk around on Hongkong Island, or take the metro to Kowloon. The train from the airport should also take less than 60 minutes. Or, if possible, stay on Lantau (the big island near the airport), and see the giant buddah. I do not know whether there's public transportation from the airport to the monastry, though. Others It's a long way form KL airport to the city centre. Most people queue 1st thing in the morning for tickets up the KL tower. So if you can get into the city before 11 am you may have chance (given that it's goin to be @ least 2 hours from the airport & you have to get back!) Depends where you're coming from? There're the Malls which are HUGE (many bargins & amazing food [esp top floor BB's]), the Bako Caves (this maybe too far out of your way without direct transport from the airport & only cool if you're strongly Budhist or wish to see Macque Monkeys). Recommend, extend your stop over in KL & absorb what you can from the wonderful culture. several visits Modified 1 year ago |
