The whole point of the Maldives is tourism and most of it is expensive and tourist driven. There are no natural islands or undiscovered islands. My god, some of the larger island are one entire resort. This is not a place for the adventure in travel but a place for the well heeled . Don't get me wrong : the islands are beautiful and once there you may say "this is heaven" as you leave your cottage and walk five steps to crystal clear beautiful water. And it is well worth the price but there is a price. |
