How do I go from Bolzano, Italy to Munich???? |
Travel Info Renting a car is about 1500 USD, is there any other cheaper option??? Train, bus, airplaine??? Travel Tips Take the train. It's the cheapest and fastest mode of transportation. http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index2.html... From: Bolzano To: Muenchen Hbf (main train station) A 4 hour trip on a direct train. 2nd class regular fare/normal tariff is 鈧?50. If you book 2nd class seats you can purchase the smart price/savings fare of 鈧?29. The smart price is not available for 1st class seats. You can only book tickets with Trenitalia 60 days in advance. And any reference to mandatory reservations are included in the price of the ticket. You are allowed to bring snacks, drinks, sandwiches with you on the train which I suggest you do. You can purchase the tickets ahead of time at Trenitalia's website above. Use the ticketless option to purchase your tickets. You will get an e-mail response from Trenitalia w/ a PNR number which you must show the conductor as he comes around to check tickets. He will then issue you your paper tickets. First set up a user name and password with Trenitalia before attempting any booking. The password is CASE specific. Hopefully, you won't have any trouble with Trenitalia's website - it is known not to be the most user friendly! You can also purchase your tickets at the train station in Bolzano if you want to wait until you are in Italy. Buy them a couple days before you plan to travel or the day you arrive in Italy. You would need to go to the International Window to purchase your tickets. And bring a printed copy of the train you want to take from Trenitalia for reference. Others Be careful when booking with TrenItalia. I booked tickets from Florence to Rome just before the pope died. After I heard that 2 million Pilgrims plus a million others were going to Rome, I decided to change my desitnation. The only problem is that TrenItalia is almost impossible to get in touch with. I spend several hours trying to get someone on the phone without success. I sent several Emails to their "customer service" mailbox with no replies. It took a long, almost threatening Email to get their attention. The money from the previously booked trip showed up in my account about 2 months later. It was a definite headache. As for the rescheduled trip, it was fine, no problems. Good luck and don't miss out on the market in Munich. Personal experience |
