When is the best time of year to visit Amsterdam? |
Travel Info I am planning a trip to the Netherlands but unsure when the best time of year is to go. I know I DO NOT want to go during the Hemp Festival because of all of the tourists. I want to be able to enjoy my trip without large crowds and cold weather. Travel Tips If you want to avoid crowds, do not go on April 30th (April 29th in 2006). That day is 'Queensday' (Koninginnedag) and is a massive street party, the trams don't even run in Amsterdam on this day as the streets are too full of people. The second week of May, as spring is coming and before the summer season really hits, should be grand. Others i would suggest April or May. Weather is warming and it doesnt get too crazy til June. |
