What can I do/visit in New York from Dec 29th to Jan 2nd? |
Travel Info I need to know what places are open those days and the "must-do" things. Thanks! Travel Tips Avoid Times Square on New Year's Eve. It's cold, it's crowded, there are no bathrooms, and if you are a woman, you will be groped in the crowd. Definitely visit one of the city's skating rinks. Central Park and Rockefeller Center are OK, but the new one in Bryant Park takes the cake. If the tree is still up in Rockefeller Center (and I imagine it will be), it's worth having a look one evening. Other than that, the typical NYC tourist attractions should be open (though probably not on January 1st). As far as museums, the new MOMA is gorgeous and the Whitney usually has some fabulous exhibits. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is also not to be missed.
