Which city in Canada is the best for a new skilled category immigrant as the first location? |
Travel Info I plan to move to Canada as a skilled worker (finance & banking background) soon. I will appreciate information about the best location to choose for me at the beginning..not expensive, good opportunities, convenient and receptive environment for a new South asian migrant, good weather, etc. etc. After settling down, I can move to any other city, but my present concern is the city I choose immediately after moving to Canada. Travel Tips Windsor is a nice place. It's a border city, so you would be close to opportunities in the USA. Toronto is only 3 1/2 hour drive away. It's definitely less expensive than Toronto. Or, you could pick a place like London which is about in the middle between Toronto and Windsor. Very pretty city with lots of opportunity. good luck Others you could try toronto or ontario... Yes, I have to agree with the others. Toronto is the largest center of population, is home to the most immigrants, and home to plentyful jobs. Most of the banks have their headquarters in "T.O.", so it's right up your alley. Granted, the weather takes some getting used to, I presume. Ontario is frigid during the winter, and the weather changes day by day. One day, it could feel like summer, the next it snows. You eventually get used to it though. Alberta has the mildest climate, but it doesn't have a large South Asian population. Vancouver is receptive to new Canadians, but all throughout the year has a ton of rain. Mississauga and Brampton, both neighbouring cities to Toronto, have large and vibrant South Asian communities. It's a relatively easy commute from either. how about downtown vancouver, the weather is mildest in canada and has the largest south asian community..... Winnipeg because it's a good place im not from there but i have been there and its new in some parts witch is cool and other parts are old The WHOLE country is booming with opportunity but the Provence of Alberta is especially opportunistic if you work in the oil and gas industry. Not real sure how lucrative banking is though, unless you are an oil and gas specialist. |
