If I only had a day? Palace at Versailles or the Louvre?? |
Travel Info I actually have two days, but I'm wodering which one of these you would choose if you have seen them both. Thanks! Travel Tips Decisions, decisions. I love the Louvre. The paintings are magnificent and the sculptures are spectacular. And I just love the building itself. Versailles is great. Just don't go there on a Tuesday or you'll feel like you're stuck in a herd of cattle. It's just not enjoyable that way. It's a beautiful palace. The gardens and fountains are breathtaking. If you do decide to stroll down to Marie Antoinette's hamlet, it's worth it. It's hard to choose between them...depends on your interests. Versailles does make for a great day trip, but the Louvre is a must, even if you just run in and buy a postcard. Try to go to both, but if you must choose only one, I'd say go to the Louvre, but I'm an art freak. *g* At both places, a museum pass is a relief. Others the Parisian hotel in vegas i have seen both and Versailles was by far my favourite, especially if it is a nice day and you can go on a rowing boat in the lake. the gardens are spectacular!! The palace at Versailles!! it's worth it Bieng slightly revolutionry i dont like Versailles very mutch, gold plated everything? I would rebel. No wonder the French did. Mebbe i am bieng pendantic? (and i like art over shiny things any way ;) i hve been to the louvre and really as an architecture it is simply majestic but to really enjoy u must have a passion for sculptures, art, paintings etc. so if u are not inclined towards arts i think it can get boring.as for palace of versailles i hve never been there but heard lots i suggest u go for the palace of versailles but hey try to manage both louvre for sure....... been to both...... |
