I am a permanent US resident expiring o8/o6/12. Do I need a return permit if I go abroad, like to Manila.? |
Travel Info go abroad like to Manila? Travel Tips My answer here is to the assumption that you're a Filipino citizen. Well, you don't need to worry about your green card a lot since it expires on 2012, which I think can be renewable. If you're travelling to Manila, you have to bring your green card, and that will serve as your returning permit. If you're going to Europe, say France, you also need your green card along with your passport; however, you need to apply for a French visa to enter France because technically you're not an American citizen but have the privelege of being an American with the exception of voting and owning an American passport. If going to Canada, all you need is your passport and green card. Oh yeah, when travelling with your green (assuming that the law hasn't been ammended for this) you can travel outside the United States up to a maximum of 6 months so that you're naturalization process won't be affected. Cool. |
