I need a quick but informative lesson on pronouncing Polish names correctly.? |
Travel Info I need to know how to pronounce Salomee Sklodowska Sklodowski Bronislawa ect. Travel Tips Sklodowska (Sk艂odowska, in fact) is a hard question. You can go either along the line of "Tskwodovska", or, for a more detailed way: S as in "snake" k as in "king" l (a proper Polish letter is an l with a diagonal dash...) is like w in "wolf" o as in "otter" d as in "dome" o as in "otter" again w like v in "Virginia" (Polish "w" is always pronounced that way) s as in "snake" again k as in "king" again a as in "anonym" Sklodowski would be the same, except for the i as in "irritation" in the end.
