Travel Info for price and places to see Travel Tips For places to see: definitely Krak贸w (Cracow) - old capital of Poland with many museums and historical buildings, Wieliczka - near Krak贸w with a salt mine turned into a museum, Gda艅sk (Danzig)- another city of historical interest and great atmosphere, Zakopane - the so-called winter capital of Poland, Warszawa (Warsaw) - the capital and government centre, Pozna艅 - beautiful city, Biskupin - a recreated prehistorical dwelling site. As for money - Poland isn't too expensive, the only place that price can go sky high is Warsaw. Others As for places to see, well, we have a lot of places worth seeing, but if you want a particular one, start with Krakow / Cracov. Warszawa / Warsaw is a good call as well, as well as Gdansk / Danzig, although you could chose dozens of others as well. As for prices, well, depends on what you'd like to see, and how much you want to spend. In fact, if you put some effort into it, you could go almost anywhere with minimal costs, once you're here. depends what time of year you go. if winter, then Zakopane in the south is excellent for skiing and hiking. i've been 4 times in the winter and there's not much to do really. its dark, grey, snowy, and cold so i would wait for summer even if u hav to pay more for tickets. Gdansk is beautiful, so is Krakow, and you should see the capital Warsaw too. Wroclaw was one of my favorite cities-very good night life. Reminded me of NYC. If you travel alone use caution on night trains especially. Its better to ride during the day. You can find decent hotels for 20-30 USD/night. I would take at least 500 USD for a modest 2 week stay with sightseeing. yes, id say Krak贸w/Cracov... this is a historic place. it was always in Poland so doesnt have as many influences as others might. it doesnt have socialistic **** close to center but has interesing industrial area of Nowa Huta at east part. its much cheaper than warsow and is great point for other topuristic atractions as it was said above. greetings |
