In Puerto Rico, the currency used, is the American dollar. That means its a very expensive place. Its the most expensive country of Latin America. Its the type of place, where between gas and tollbooths, you sometimes spend US$30 getting from one town to the other. You will probably spend around US$300 in air fare alone. Rent in the greater San Juan area is well over US$500 a month, which leads me to the fact that in order to survive and be able to work, you will need to know Spanish. You will need to know Spanish to get a job, even if its cleaning the toilets. Not to mention, that most jobs will require a certain level of education, high school graduation at the very least. Others I agree...you need to have a 12th grade education (and need health certificates too) to do ANYTHING here...the prices go up and the salary goes down...it's getting unreal here...best bet..get a GED |
