I plan on going to Canada this summer by car but have an OUI/DWI on my record, can I still get in? |
Travel Info I have heard they will not let me know the country without clearing it with them before and paying a tax for a temporary travel permit. No lectures please, I don't drink anymore. Travel Tips If you are doing the driving then I would suggest getting that permit. You don't want/need the hassle if you don't and, god forbid, something does happen. If you are travelling with other's who have clear driving records then allow them to drive instead. Source(s): Had a friend in the same position. Other Travel Tips if your liscence has not been revocked, and is still a valid liscence...you should have no problem. if it is still in court for any reason...you may want to contact the D.M.V. to ask the law on this subject...or contact the canada tourist information center, which im sure they have a 800 # listed somewhere. and stop worring about who thinks what concerning your d.w.i...i am sure in alot of ways you paid your dues...its if you didnt learn from it, that is important. |
