Getting from Frankfurt to Kaiserslautern? |
Travel Info Hi I am moving to Kaiserslautern area next year, and I have to get from the airport in Frankfurt to Kaiserslautern on my own. What is the easiest way? Also fairly cheap, I don't want an hour taxi ride. Travel Tips You are going to love how easy the train system is in Germany. Deutsche Bahn There is a train station at the Franfurt Airport and you can get to the main station (Hauptbahnhof) in Kaiserslautern (Kaiserslautern Hbf) with a connection at Mannheim Hbf. It will take between 1.5 - 2 hours, depending what train you take (ICE is a fast train, RE, RB are slow trains) and what time of day. The best thing to do is use the http://www.bahn.de/ web site and klick on English and follow instructions. You can easily buy your tickets when you get there or buy them on line.(I always found it to be the same price). If you are going to be in Germany for a while, look into special rate cards that will make your travel cheaper. And while in Kaiserslautern, remeber to cheer for the Rote Taufel (the local football club)! Shoene Reise! |
