Where is a good place to rent in San Diego?

Travel Info
My friend and I are recent college graduates and are considering moving to San Diego from NJ. We don't know much about the area and would be looking for a safe, fun, affordable place to rent an apartment. Any suggestions?

Travel Tips
There are a lot of places to live in San Diego, all of which are expensive. Well, that's not entirely true, but the cost of living is high out here. Depending on where you live, expect to pay from $1000 per month to $2500 per month for a two bedroom place.

Areas closer to downtown and the beach (Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Del Mar, La Jolla) are going to be more expensive than those at inland locations (La Mesa, El Cajon, Lakeside, Santee).

I would recommend checking out Craigslist for San Diego (linked below). You can search for apartments based on what you want to pay. North Park, Chula Vista, and Mira Mesa should be reasonable areas to live. Source(s): http://sandiego.craigslist.org/apa/...
