Travel Tips San Fransico if you want dinning, access to Napa Valley, Monterey and Carmel (within 2 hours each) Laguna Beach if you want sun and fun, great restaurants and access to great shopping at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza. Disneyland is close by too, if you have kids. The weather will always be slightly warmer in the south (Laguna) than in the north (SF), but both will keep you coming back for more. Others if you want some sun and safe waves then come to carlsbad...it's a pretty small town but it's swarmed with tourists in the summer....on second thought don't come here b/c we don't need anymore tourists(I won't be able to surf this summer!) j/k uhhh.....i live in carlsbad? Write San Francisco, South Shore Lake Tahoe, Carsbad, Laguna Beach(be prepared to walk faster than you can drive in Laguna in the summer) on slips of paper and put the slips in a hat or something, have someone close their eyes and pull out your summer vacation destination.
