Travel Info san jose area Travel Tips For a weekend getaway, if I'm feeling adventurous, I go to LA. Hit up Melrose, do some nightlife on sunset, maybe shopping on 4th St Promenade and watch some street performers. A little closer is Santa Barbara, which is the beach, decent nightlife and really good restaurants. Closer even would be Santa Cruz or Capitola. Head out to the beach for some sun and a nice restaurant for dinner. Or for some city life, there is San Francisco. Fisherman's Wharf or Chinatown. Union Square for shopping and dinner. Maybe Embarcadero (esp on July 4th for fireworks) There are tons of places to go around here. It just matters what you want to do and how far you want to go. OH! And Napa for the spas and winetasting. Have fun! Others go to san francisco pacifica or monterey Catalina. Check out Carmel by the Sea, it's expensive but, beautiful. Noteworthy: Clint Eastwood used to be the mayor www.feltoncrest.com. 40 min into the mountains outside of San Jose. The woman who runs it is amazing! Lived in the bay area for 25 years. |
