Travel Info we're going on a spur of the moment trip to cali! I've never been there and we're short on cash. oh, we're flying into San Jose. Travel Tips I live in San Jose and can definitely say that on a normal weekend there is not much to do. I do however recommend renting a car and go to Santa Cruz/ Capitola (for the beaches) and San Francisco (for everything you can think of) for sure. Both are about 45 minutes to an hour away from San Jose. Your not gonna want to go much further than that because of travel time. If your short on cash take caltrain from San Jose to San Francisco. It costs about $13 for a round trip ticket. Others The beach?... http://www.parks.ca.gov/ You have to go see Downtown San Francisco...if you don't spend money that's cheap and you can see all kinds of neat things...that and you should go see Berkley, just to see the freaks walking around. Other than that, beaches are great. Any 'attraction' is going to be pricey though. www.vrbo.com is the best site for affordable lodging |
