Entertaining little ones in sunnyvale?

My husband has to work in Sunnyvale for a week. We'll be bringing our 3 year old and 8 month old. Any ideas on fun places to take them?

Do you have access to a car? Will you be bringing a stroller for the baby? If you have both, try Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose. It's the best public park for kids in the area.

If you don't have a car, it will be hard to get around Sunnyvale. I don't know where you'll be staying and if there's anything within walking distance. But Sunnyvale does have some lovely parks for kids. Serra Park was a favorite with my children

Just keep in mind that Sunnyvale, and Silicon Valley as a whole, isn't much of a tourist destination. So the activities you'll be doing with your kids are what the residents do -- nothing spectacular, but primarily family- and kid-focused.

Happy Hollow Zoo - it's in San Jose, about 15 minutes from Sunnyvale. It's a small zoo just for little ones and also has a great park with a few kiddie rides - great for the 3 year-old and you can carry the 8 month-old. The park is just the right size for little ones to explore without being overwhelmed. I took my daughter there often from the time she was 12 months through about 5 years old.
