Travel Info Where is silicon valley? Travel Tips It is actually in Santa Clara, CA, but it is just an informal name given to a specific area. Santa Clare is located in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area Others I believe its in Seattle, Washington Silicon Valley is the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California in the United States. The term originally referred to the region's large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers, but eventually came to refer to all the high tech businesses in the area. I believe that would be the cleavage in hollywood??? South of San Francisco Bay Area. Palo Alto is a good starter. Menlo Park, San Jose, Santa Clara County, Campbell, Los Gatos, Willow GLen, Cambrian, Almaden. These are cities where companies were/are located when Silicon Valley was noted as the center of design with solid state devices.
