I lived for 2 years in Taif. If you go outside of the big cities you see the real culture. The families are the most important. Woman have a lot of rights, that I would apreciate in the western society. There are also disadvantages, as the press loves to point out. However, one has to admire that country, how the people managed the culture-shock to be thrown from medievel times only in the 1950's, where the Bedouine-life was base of a lot of the people - to suddenly struggling with their beliefsystem and sudden world-wide recognition and "invasion" of a 2000 year old Western Society that had the technical and social revolution already over 200 years ago. I think in 50-100 years we will look back and who knows, perhaps they will take the best of all our worlds and make a new society. I am optimistic after all the great people I have met there.

Right on. I hope to visit on a study abroad trip this coming winter holiday.
People really misrepresent the life there (especially women rights over there), nevertheless many think they're all terrorists, but I've studied them for a while and I gotta tell you, they're all very intelligent people who know what's going on. It's just an unfortunate coincidence that many of the attackers in 9/11 were Saudi.

I think the same thing about Saudi Arabia as I do about France.
every time someone says Saudi Arabia it makes me think of an ezotic land! but i know it's not.
Its a nice place to spend your vacation with family
I think its a great country, rich, safe and there are a lot of places to go.
