Travel Info Have anyone driven from Montana to Seattle? How is the safety of route (I-90) after sunset? Gas stations? Travel Tips I have always found the available facilities to be well-lighted & with pretty good on/off freeway access. You may be startled by the friendliness of attendants & "locals." It's a Pacific Northwest thing. I'm a Seattle area native with relatives in Montana, and hear this all the time from visitors. Be prepared for possible snowy conditions over the mountain passes. The state DOTs keep them as clear & safe as possible, but I've hit snow in MT in August! As always, use a modicom of caution (lock your vehicle when you walk away from it, be atttentive to your surroundings). We're not perfect here, but as a whole, pretty good folk! I'm only sorry to hear that you'll be traveling through this beautiful region after sunset - You're going to miss some breath-taking views. Others do not take directions from the gas station person remember (the hills have eyes!) The saftey of I-90 at night is Ok but I would recommend only traveling by day. |
