I'm considering moving to Seattle. What should I know about the city before making my decision?

Travel Tips
The Seattle area has a nice mix of city/rural, there are a lot of parks and outdoor activities, but if you prefer to be inside, there are always galleries, museums, concerts, dances, theatres, movies and indoor sporting events to attend. There are well maintained trails and bicyclists are abundant. There is an International Film Fest in May, cultural festivals on Memorial Day and Labor Day, and if you've got to get out of town, you can do it by plane, train, auto, taxi, bus, seaplane, hydrofoil, or ferry.

Seattle celebrates almost every holiday since the population is quite diverse with a large influx of immigrants. Seattle is often on top 10 lists for being livible, healthy, literate, and we're pretty modest about it. There are about a half dozen 4-year universities nearby and probably 20 community colleges.

It used to smell like cooked green beans on the freeway as we drove past the Rainier Brewery, but now it belongs to Tully's coffee, so the aroma is a little more pungent.

There are actually fewer gray days and less rain in Seattle than Portland, but I still know 20 different ways to say liquid is falling from the sky.

And if that isn't enough - there are a bazillion places to go out to eat or drink. Source(s): http://www.seeseattle.com/

it's all the way in Washington state
Seattle? Bring your rain coat and unbrella!
Best part. It's only two hours from Vancouver. Seattle is tame by comparison.
If you don't mind rain ,rain ,rain and more rain, overcast skys most of the time. Alot of traffic. Good produce, good food, good fish. All kinds of shopping, 100000. Starbucks(seems like).

If you like lush greenery and flowers, the ocean, being able to hop on a ferry(short distance away)and spend a day on a San Juan Island or Vancouver or Victoris Canada, good intertainment, good schools.
it rains a lot
