I don't know which travel sites are best used from overseas. If you're staying in the west coast, you might book directly with Alaska Airlines, who seems to dominate the region (and offers competitive fares). If you're doing alot of air travel, it might be worth sticking with a single airline so that you can accummulate mileage points and other frequent traveler rewards.
