Do people in Seattle really not use umbrellas?

Travel Info
I heard this somewhere and was just wondering? Do 'Seattleites' really not use umbrellas with all of the rain they have?

Travel Tips
huh...that's interesting...lol
I've lived in this area my entire life and I don't think I've ever owned an umbrella! Due to the work that I do, I spend a lot of time in the down town Seattle area and I don't recall seeing very many people with umbrellas either. Never really gave it much thought.

They use hoods.
Of course they use umbrellas. I've been to Seattle many times, know many people who live in Seattle. They use umbrellas.
they use those hood like things, i visited there once and wow, no umbrellas
they are so use to rain
I think everyone who lives in Seattle actually owns several umbrellas.
I went to Seattle in the summer for two weeks. It did not rain once, but I also have acquaintances there, and they are people just like everyone else. Of course nearly everyone has umbrellas there, and some use them, some don't. It's just like everywhere else.
We use umbrellas when we have a spare hand and it's not too windy. Otherwise, hoods and our "webbed feet =)" do the job.
