Are there a lot of mosquitos in Seattle because of all the rain/water? |
Travel Info I currently reside in Minnesota where our national bird is the mosquito! I'm contemplating a move to Seattle. Are the mosquitos as bad there as they are in Minnesota? Travel Tips No, there are very few mosquitos in Seattle, though you might run into a few if you go to a park that has a lake. Otherwise...I can't remember the last time I saw a mosquito in the Seattle area, much less having been bitten by one. It doesn't get hot or humid enough in the Seattle area for mosquitos, I don't think. Temps seldom below 35 or above 90? NICE. Others No, hardly any compared to other states I have visited. I can not remember the last time I've been bitten by a mosquito in the Seattle area. Mosquitos aren't a problem in Seattle, and surrounding areas don't experience the same level of mosquitos you have in MN. Depending on where you might want to hike/camp/boat, you may run into buggy areas in the summer. there's no mosquitos in seattle, there are slugs ewww(because of the rain) seattle is awesome!! it's like the coolest city you can live in the u.s. everyone drinks coffee and paints and has cool cars and likes nature. and when everyone is supposed to clap .... us seattleans snap our fingers. GO TO STARBUCKS! it was invented there We live near a pond in the Seattle area and never have seen mpsquitos. Even though our humidity is high (90% most of the year), and we don't have very much in the way of high winds, it doesn't get very hot. However...we went camping in the mountains nearby (Leavenworth area) and I was eaten alive by the mosquitos. http://www.gonorthwest.com/washington/ca... |
