Which neighborhoods in Seattle are safe and fun for summer interns to live in? |
Travel Info Which neighborhoods in Seattle are safe and fun for summer interns to live in? Travel Tips I used to live in Fremont and I really loved it. It has a very "college-y" atmosphere (liberal, artsy, mellow). Fremont is also sort-of in the middle of the city, so it's not too far to anywhere else in the city - downtown, Ballard, the U-District, Greenlake, etc. Besides Fremont, Greenlake is another neighborhood that I'd recommend. It's a little bit more of a "family" neighborhood. Source(s): Life-long Washington resident :) Other Travel Tips i used to live in Monroe, it has really grown a lot, but its a cute town and is safe and more family oriented. Laurelhurst, Medina, Mercer Island, Madison Park. We've hosted several interns at our company and they have enjoyed the Green Lake area or University of Washington. If you don't have a car and will be relying on public transportation - you will want to make sure you are by a good bus line/ I think you would love Green Lake! I lived there when I was in my 20's and had a blast. It is central, offers lots of outdoor activities, has some good restaurants and coffee shops, is close to the UW and University Village (awesome mall). You will find apartments and houses to rent. Check this out: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/webtowns/t... Good luck and I hope you enjoy your summer in Seattle! Ballard, Fremont, Greenlake. Stay away from the University District and Broadway- they are pretty dirty and have lots of pan handlers and drunks! Ballard, Fremont, Kent. |
