I live in Los Angeles and am considering moving to Seattle. Any opinions on weather and meeting new people?

Travel Info
My biggest concerns are that many people say it is hard to meet new people and of course coming from sunny southern california the rain. Any advice would help. I'd particularly like to hear from anyone from LA who moved to seattle.

Travel Tips
I live in Seattle, don't move here, it rains all the time, traffic is horrid and we don't need anymore californians moving here!

As long as you work inside and dont mind the rain and fog most of the time you should be fine. As far as meeting new people start with a local church and go from there.
Seattle is my favorite city -- way cooler than LA (sorry, dude). It really doesn;t rain that much. It's just cloudy & drizzly alot from Oct to May.

You'll love it. I think it's just as friendly as CA -- maybe more so. I hope you like coffee!
I moved from SF to seattle and had a really hard time with the weather. People are more like people from No. Cal, meaning they are more educated, cultured and snotty sometimes. Clothing is very muted and layered and bookishly "hip" with the lingering effects of grunge. Being smaller than LA I thought it was easy to meet people but it's a lot of club, nightlife stuff and smoking and hanging out. People like to go to theatre and clutural events. I would have stayed but for the horrible traffic (only one major freeway in town) and the damn rain.
my brother in law lived in san francisco, and moved to seattle about 20 years ago, and he loves it there. i have visited there several times, and i really like it as well, and considered moving there myself at one time.
I live in a southernish place, hot and very little rain, and I LOVE Seattle. I want to move there... Yeah, there is tons of rain. Expect rain all the time. Go visit, you麓ll see. I wouldn麓t know about meeting people, but in general, I think people from northern places are more friendly than those from southern places. It麓s probably the same to meet people there as it is in other places.
It would be hard to move from your nice weather to rainy seattle. Both are busy cities with bad traffic. Instead of surfer dudes you meet grunge rockers who love Starbucks. I would rather be in Cali.
