Seattle WA?

Travel Info
Have a sis visiting from Germany. Live in Seattle WA since October but don't know the place to well yet. What can I show her to impress her. She is 35, single and loves traveling. She has seen alot of nice places in other words, and I want to show her things around here to make her go ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, nice.....Love turkish food (we'r turks) any good suggestions?

Travel Tips

An absolute must would be a ride on the ferries. They are unique to Puget Sound. Whale watching might be good, if you can afford a tour.
The Seattle Center was built for the 1962 World's Fair - the theme was futuristic. Keeping that in mind, take her to the top of the Space Needle (now you know how it got it's name), and check into the EMP schedule, too.
The Pike Place Market is always a favorite with visitors. You could pick up fresh produce and make a nice salad that night.
Outside of the city there are farms where you can pick fresh strawberries this time of year. If you go out to Carnation, they would be a great snack along the way to Snoqualmie Falls.
Maybe a ride on the steam train out there would be fun. My uncle helped restore many of the cars, but I've never indulged in a trip.
I understand that there's a troll who lives under the Fremont bridge. And Fremont is unique unto itself, too. As is Ballard, which is near to that area and could be included in a nice day trip.
To the North in Everett, you can catch a water taxi (for free) and spend a day on Jetty Island. It was built as a breakwater for sailing ships to come in for repairs - all explained on the island. The water taxi runs every hour, so you can come back whenever you'd like. The park ranger (Craig) gives talks throughout the day on whales and other things. He loves it out there, and you can really get a nice bit of info from him.
The San Juan Islands are world-renowned. The gems of the Strait of Juan de Fuca are beautiful. Go up Whidbey Island and cross over Deception Pass Bridge for some spectacular views along the way. Deception Pass itself was used for internment camps during WW-II. When you see how dangerous the currents are, you can appreciate what the local Japanese people were subjected to.
I'm afraid I can't help on the Turkish food. But one of my favorite restaurants is The Sherpa in the University district (on University Avenue). All procedes go to support the sherpas in Nepal, so you can have a nice lunch & do something good for someone at the same time.

THERE are lots of good things to do in Seattle.....U have the space needle ...The seattle zoo,,,take her on a Ferry boat ride across the bay.....And food...omg food galore in Seattle....

Definately take her to the Boeing Museum of Flight and the space needle. The Experience Music Project may be a good idea if she likes Rock 'n Roll, but pass on it otherwise. Take her to see a Mariner's game. If she's from Germany she may never have seen a baseball game before. Be prepared to explain it some, but it's a good experience.

I'd say get out of the city and see Deception Pass State Park, and Ebey's landing. BREATHTAKING!!! You can stop in LaConner on the way back and have a nice meal on the water.

Ray's Boathouse is a Seattle classic place to eat with awesome seafood and views.
