Where is the best and safest place in the Seattle-metro area for a young family on a tight budget to live? |
Travel Info My husband and I are moving at the end of next month with our 7 month old son and medium sized dog. We need a safe yet affordable appartment. He has a BS in Accounting and in Int'l Business and would like to work near by (not downtown!!) Travel Tips Everett, Lake Stevens is another good place that is still relitively affordable with good schools. Commute by parking in the Park and Ride. Most commuter busses are very nice. Usually your company will subsidize your bus pass if you choose to get one (highly recommended!) and you can use Flexcar downtown if you have a little business that needs to be done in the middle of the day - like Dr. or Dentist appts. Look into finding jobs around Seattle like Bellevue, Redmond, Lynnwood, Everett, Renton, Kent, Tacoma, and then find living arrangements closer to the jobs. Others You might check out the Green Lake area. The reason I mention this is because it would be a great place to hang out with your son and your dog would like it too. It is convenient to many different areas (Seattle, Kirkland, Bellevue, Northgate) and is a fun place to live. If you're the suburban kind, you may want to consider living in South King County (Renton, Kent). Housing is still affordable, although commuting might be a little tough. |
