What is the halfway point when driving from Seattle to Los Angeles? |
Travel Info I want to take a road trip and I'm not sure where to book a hotel for the night. We will probably drive 9 or 10 hours the first day. Where should we stop? Travel Tips You could take the I-5 and be incredibly bored. But here's an idea. At Grant's Pass, OR, take US 199 down to Crescent City CA. Take US 101 down the California Coast into San Fransisco, right across the Golden Gate, then get back on track to LA. One of the most awesome drives in the world, right thru the heart of Redwood Country. Others Map quest is your friend. I actually live in Seattle. I looked it up for you, the entire trip would take about 17 hours. Your best midway point would be Redding California if you travel on I-5 which I'm assuming you are because its a direct highway to LA. You might be able to make it to Sacramento if you want to stay in a bigger city though. hope that helps. Oh and I have made the trip with my mom when i was about 14, Redding isnt a bad place to stay at all and there should be hotels right off the interstate. According to the site in the source section, half the travel time would be 8.75 hours. Half the distance would be 569.02 miles. Half way through would be around Eureka, CA which is 586.23 miles from Seattle. It is 9 hours and 48 minutes from Seattle. However, I don't know if it's that great of a place to stay. I've never been there. Mount Shasta, CA is our traditional halfway point. It's a 22 hour drive all the way from Seattle to LA |
