Travel Info Is Seattle, Washington a good place to move to? I heard it rains alot? Travel Tips Of course, this is just an opinion, but rain is good! That's why it's known as the Emerald City... =) But, even more important to consider are the cost of living and traffic. These are the two things I hear most often as complaints about Seattle. (I am an Oregonian). I've been there, it really is a beautiful, thriving city! Minutes (and I mean *minutes*) away from the some of most beautiful places in the whole country. You have to weigh the pros and cons and decide for yourself if the cost and traffic are worth it. It may be better to live in a nearby smaller community rather than in Seattle proper. Source(s): Personal experience and local hearsay Other Travel Tips The suicide rate is the highest in the country because they hardly see sunshine up there. Yes, it rains a lot. But lately the summer has been wonderful. on a brighter note. They have very low rates of skin cancer. it does rain about 200 days a year, but it's a beautiful place with very nice people I have a good friend who lives in Seattle and when I visit I find it very beautiful and lots to see and do. Also you can come and visit one of the nicest cities in Canada (Victoria BC) by hopping on the Clipper. We are really close, about 2 1/2 hour boat ride! Yes it rains but you should see the beautiful gardens there! |
