Driving from Calgary, Alberta to Seattle mid July for one week, any suggestons? |
Travel Info I am looking for great places to stay (affordable Bed and Breakfasts would be ideal), festivals and "must see" events and activities, all along the way. Please advise. Travel Tips Taste of Seattle is way cool. It is at Seattle Center. Check out Pacific Science Center, Space Needle, EMP while you are there. Also, there is a "citypass" that will give you admission to the Science Center, Space Needle, a Harbor Cruise, the Seattle Aquarium, the Zoo, and the Museum of Flight. The cruise was really cool, and that is coming from a local yokel. Check out local events for that time frame by visiting citysearch.com, and select Seattle Wa. Just make sure you get your car check out before traveling. You don't want to have car trouble! Make sure you have a spare tire and stow away some extra cash just incase. Ha ha ha. I live in Calgary. I've driven to Seatle twice. I was lucky cause it didn't rain at all either time I went. I spent most of time down around Pike Place and at my friend's house in Mercer Island. You can go to the Science center if you're into that sort of thing. Other than that I don't really remember what there is. Have fun! Pike Street Market and Pioneer Square are interesting places. Go across Puget Sound and visit Olympic National Park. Then go to the Pacific coast, just so you can say you did. It's a breathtaking sight. Take the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, B.C. Return by Ferry to Seattle. There are numerous places you can get nice views. Go east on I 90 to Snoqualmie Falls. They have a nice picnic area there. Visit Mt. Rainier National Park. That should use up the 7 days. |
