Where is the best place to go in seattle for the 4th of july? |
Travel Info Some family is visiting me for the 4th of July and i want to give them a memorable experience. I was thinking maybe Gasworks park, or maybe alki beach. But I think you would have to arrive early at Alki beach, and there plane doesn't arrive until 1:20 pm. So if anybody knows of an excellent place to hang out and see incredible fireworks, I would appreciate any info. Travel Tips There are a number of Seattle area fireworks viewing opportunities: The WAMU Family 4th is held at Gasworks Park on Lake Union and broadcast on KING5, the Fourth of JulIvars fireworks are on Elliott Bay and broadcast on KOMO4, The cities of Edmonds, Bellevue and Tacoma (broadcast on KCPQ13) also put on good shows. The fireworks can be seen from the venues, but the crowds do start arriving early in the day, or since Seattle is built on 7 hills go somewhere high like the top of Queen Anne, or the Magnolia Bluff. The other option is to see from the water. Viewing from a boat on Lake Union or Elliott Bay would be perfect. I prefer to watch on television since it usually rains on the 4th of July in Seattle. My husband and son brave the weather and enjoy the Bellevue fireworks at Bellevue Downtown Park from under parkas.
