Travel Info What would be the best harbor and hotel to visit at the San Juan Islands (looking for something high end)? Travel Tips I'd go to Orcas Island (Deer Harbor or East Sound), and stay at a B&B,....there are many, and quite a few that are pretty darn nice. Warning, you need to make your reservations way in advance, and you need to understand the ferry systems schedules and dynamics, particularly on holiday weekends. Or, you can fly in on Kenmore Air, and forget dealing with a car. Others I suppose that would depend on a couple minor issues(I am Owner of a Travel Agency): 1-When do you plan to go? 2-Going alone or with others?(Makes a difference in the pricing) There's several very nice Hotels and B&B's on San Juan Island that I would recommend, keeping in mind that you want "high-end" accomodations. I haven't been up there in a while, but Rosario Resort on Orcas Island is gorgeous. Lakedale Resort is supposed to be a very nice high end place, though more of a rustic ambience than Rosario. Roche Harbor on San Juan Island is beautiful. Lots of things to do and see. http://www.rocheharbor.com/ may I suggest Friday Harbor...Its a darling town and is only a fairy ride from Anacortes |
