Travel Tips Just go directly through the airline Source(s): A travel agent told me this one time when I needed to get a ticket to Cali in a hurry Other Travel Tips For general U.S. travel, there are a couple of ways I use to go about "looking". 1) I would suggest you do an online search for the specific airport you would be flying into, to determine which airlines provide service. Next, periodically (a couple of times a day, minimumly) search these specific airline web sites for fares. The best time (I believe)is said to be on Wednesdays, around 1:00 A.M. (in the morning). Remember, the best fares are purchased at least 21 days in advance. 2) Use some internet search engines to look. Farereport.com will give you a starting point as to what your fare commonly costs. itasoftware.com can provide information and booking information for a fare but does not sell the fare themselves. You would have to take the info to a travel agent for the booking (and pay a modest fee for their service). Sites that either sell fares or will link you to a sale include qixo.com and sidestep.com. For easy access to many search engines using the same information, use bookingbuddy.com. As a stand-alone, trip planning website, I like travelocity.com. I literally have a list of some 20 or more websites I might check but the ones I've listed are usually quite thorough.
