What can you tell me about Puyallup,Washington? |
Travel Info My family is moving from Las Vegas to Puyallup after living here all our lives.40+ yrs.So,am I in for a total cultural shock or what? Travel Tips I live not to far away from Puyallup. There is a big fair there every September that lasts for a month. Puyallup used to be more rural, but in the last 10 years or so it has changed from farming communities to more of a suburb. It's very pretty in Puyallup and you are not too far away from the country to get out and drive around. It's not too far away from Tacoma which is a fairly large city. Cost of living isn't too bad in comparison to my area (Renton/Kent/Covington.) A lot of people choose to move there because houses costs less, but there has been a big boom in housing and the costs down there aren't as great as they used to be. Others Yes, but it might not be all that bad afterall, depending on of course what you like and don't like. Puyallup is a fairly rural community. Neighboring Sumner, Auburn are failry large places. Puyallup won three state High School Football championships and sent at least two quarterbacks to the University of Washington, one on to the NFL. Puyallup is also home to the 3rd largest state fair in the nation, based on attandance. It runs about three weeks starting in Sept. Be sure you attend! Get a sauteed onion burger and a hot scone! Depending on where you are you should also have a wonderful view of Mt Rainer, the highest elevation in the state at 14,000 Ft. I envy you. I grew up in Washington, and have been in the midwest the past four years. I hope to come back home soon and stay. Good luck on your move! Hi I live in Puyallup and there is tons to do here, we have the Puyallup fair which is fairly exciting, and if you go up the hill a ways there is south hill which has an extremely large mall, downtown Puyallup is a little boring, but if you are into sports we have a Rec center almost in the middle of puyallup, there is the skate deck much to do around here, well what school would you be going to? |
