Where can I find a field of sunflowers in the northwestern Washington area? |
Travel Info I want to take some pictures to hang in my dining room. I know now is the season where Sunflowers are at their peak, I just don't know where to find any. I live on the Kitsap Peninsula. Travel Tips We grow sunflowers in our garden over in Kent/Covington area, so I'm sure they can grow over on the west side of the mountains. I know driving along the country roads you can find some small farms that have a couple of rows of sunflowers and you could always ask to stop and take a picture. You could also ask a local florist where they get their sunflowers or go to a farmers market and ask the growers if you could stop off at their property to take pictures. I looked it up on Yahoo and could not find any sunflower fields though. But I know they can be grown locally. Others i believe they prefer growing in dry climates. it might be worth driving towards eastern washington. spring is nice up north for the tulips.....very colorful... Mt. Rainier! This is the perfect time of year to see huge fields of wild flowers at Mt. Rainier. Take some of the hikes that start at Paradise. It's so beautiful! I wish I could go this month, but I don't think it's going to happen for me this year. There is such a small window of opportunity of hiking at Mt. Rainier (without hiking through deep fields of snow.) Now is the time. Hurry before you miss it! Good luck. :-) |
