Visitor Tips

To make your visit as enjoyable as possible, here are some helpful tips:

Buy your tickets in advance. Phone toll-free 1-800-464-1476. Tickets can be reserved online or at the call center up to one hour before your arrival.
Visit during off-peak times and hours. Arrive as soon as the Future of Flight opens to avoid crowds. Late afternoons can also be a less crowded time to visit. Come on a weekday, as weekends are always the busiest. And June through September are guaranteed to be the busiest months for an attraction like ours.
Tell us in advance if someone with special needs is visiting. With advance notice, we can make arrangements to accommodate special needs such as wheelchair assistance and a sign-language interpreter.
Consider staying at the adjacent Hilton Garden Inn. If you want to spend lots of time at the Future of Flight and visit other nearby attractions, the new 102-room Hilton Garden Inn next door offers a convenient "base" 鈥?and its rates are much less than a big-city hotel!

Others
Yes you need reservation for the Boeing tour.
Plan about an hour drive depending time of day.
I do not no what the start time is in Dec. But you can go on line to Boeing and find all the information.

I can assure you that the tour is very worth while. Have done with tour groups a number of time over the years. (am a tour escort)
Here's the link to Boeing's tour pages that can answer your questions:

Ticket are first-come, first-serve. Traveling north from Tacoma on I-5 to Everett (Mukilteo) is about an hr drive, from Seattle its around 30 minutes.

As a Boeing employee the best time is a weekday to do the tour, Note: Boeing Commercial Airplane Group is on a winter break from Dec 22 'til the end of the year, the tours still will be going on, but the buildings will feel like a ghost town. (empty)

***Don't get suckered and paying $50+ a ticket for a tourguide outfit with a charter bus service that is not affliated with the Boeing Company. Not worth the high price that they charge. Purchase the $15 ticket/s directly from the Future of Flight, and do the commute from Tacoma. On the way back, the Museum of Flight, in Seattle, is a good stop to see planes from around the world. Enjoy your stay
