Travel Tips It's a good question because as far as I know: England has the worst crime rate amongst the countries with leading economies.People are more likely to be mugged, burgled, robbed or assaulted here than in America, Germany, Russia, South Africa or any other of the world's 20 largest nations. Only the Dominican Republic, New Zealand and Finland have higher crime rates than England and Wales. Yes South has a high sexual assualt rate, but Scotland tops list of world's most violent countries. A United Nations report has labelled Scotland the most violent country in the developed world, with people three times more likely to be assaulted than in America. England and Wales recorded the second highest number of violent assaults while Northern Ireland recorded the fewest. So if anything people should be very fearful when entering the UK AND WALES. Dont get me wrong, the place is absolutely amazing. I lived there for 18 years (all my life) and now recently moved to Taiwan, and I really miss it. The beautiful sunsets, the mountains, the different cultures. I can understand why there aren't mant chinese foreigners there. You can leave your bikes keys in your bike when you go shopping here in Taiwan, you'll find them right where you left them, as for SA, you'll be too scared. Why my nissan 1400 (i think it was a 1400) bakkie got stolen out of the yard, from the backyard...how is that possible. But I cant wait to go back...its great! the highest rape is in cape town, the highest crime in johannesburg, to much killings on farms I can go on forever..... It's a beautiful country, but I know how scary it is living there, I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to South Africa!!! |
