When is the weather in South Africa the nicest? |
Travel Info And by nicest I mean coolest? Not cold, but like close to 70 degrees. Travel Tips It really depends a lot on where you are going and what you intend to do. The tourist season is around Dec-Feb and most beaches will be really crowded. It is actually summer then with temperatures around 28-30C. Right after winter, Sep-Nov is a lovely time to visit the Cape as it is spring and the mountainsides come alive with fynbos. Also, it is whale season during which the Southern Right whales come to have their babies. Further up north, due to lack of rain, it is a good time for safaris as all the animals come out to watering holes. I am planning to go this year in September. Others it depends where in south africa you want to go to. the best time would be from september to april thats when you get the summer, spring and autumn to me which is all the same (summer) If you want the temp around 70 degrees then you better visit South Africa in winter that is May till August. Depends where you intend to go really, South Africa is very versatile. For first visits Cape Town and the Western Cape probably offer the most for tourists ( I can hear all the folk from other provinces howling !!!!) The mountain and the beautiful wine lands, not to mention the beaches (sea is cold though) take a lot of beating. Weather wise it can be very changeable but as a former resident I would say late February is a good a time as any and if you do go try and visit historical Stellenbosh and the Franshoek valley. GAUTENG ok, firstly, we use the metric system, so seventy degrees means close to boiling point. secondly, it depends on what time of the year and which part of the country you are visiting. you will have to be a little more specific with your question. the general needs specifics. |
