Where can i find big big big houses at in st.louis?? |
Travel Info my daugther is working on a project to find big houses in st.louis so where can i find them? Travel Tips Historically, the largest and most desirable houses have been located in the suburbs, 10-20 minutes west of Downtown. For many, many years, Ladue was the burb with the most extravagant homes/property. For the most part that is still true. Clayton, located just east of Ladue, is the hot area right now, as baby boomers trade in their mansions for brownstones on smaller parcels of land (within walking distance to Clayton's restaurants). Also, as the population has continued to expand westward, West County has become awash with new homes (aka McMansions). Other trendy spots are located along the western border of metro St. Louis (which bumps up against the suburbs). There you will find beautiful old homes that have been restored, and which are conveniently located to Washington University, Forest Park and the Central West End. If you find yourself in Ladue, you can get a good sense of the houses by driving the following route: start at S. Price Road (at the intersection of Price and Clayton) and head north along Price; Take a left at the first stop light onto Ladue Rd; Take Ladue Rd west until you hit Warson and go left); Continue south on Warson, past the intersection with Clayton Rd, until you get to the Warson/Litzsinger intersection (at a stop sign); Take a left at Litzsinger. Throughout the drive, make sure to turn into various lanes, as many of the houses aren't visible from the major roads. Good luck. Most neighborhoods are just the slums, I was traveling through there last summer, and my cousin lives there . . . but on base. Modified 1 year ago St charles they start in the 2m's Clayton, Ladue, Town and Contry these go up to 20M 3400qf to 8000+sf Wildwood, Ladue, Chesterfield, Some parts of St. Charles county, Huntleigh Hills, Clayton, town and Country and NO St. Louis is not all ghetto, you must have been in East St. Louis, Illinois which is nothing but ghetto and is not a part of Missouri! |
