Does St. Louis have a harsh climate? What are the best & worst things about living there? |
Travel Info Does St. Louis have a harsh climate? What are the best & worst things about living there? Travel Tips No, St. Louis doesn't have a particularly harsh climate. We see pretty much everything though, hot summers, cold winters, snow, and temperate autumns and springs. I wouldn't suggest coming in the middle of summer, though, because it's usually really hot and really humid then. I think the best thing about living in St. Louis is the number of cultural things to do. We have one of the best zoos in the country (and it's free!) along with a great art museum, botanical gardens, the Muny outdoor theatre, the Fabulous Fox theatre, the Science Center, and many more. I guess the worst part would be the relatively high crime rate in the actual city. The suburbs are nice, though. Others Yeah St. Louis can be kind of crappy. Summer time gets hot and humid and winter can be very very cold. Driving is the worst thing, street are poorly marked. There are lots of cool things to do in St. Louis, whatever you're into there are things for you to do. Good music scene, good museums, free zoo, lots of good restaurants, and any type of sport you would want to watch. The summers here are usually pretty humid which makes the already hot temperature feel even worse. But the fall and spring time (now) are wonderful. The worst part about living here is the humidity in the summer, but the winters aren't bad. It snows a few times but doesn't last very long. I'd say it's pretty nice other than humidity. I love it here in St. Louis. not realharsh I'VE LIVED THERE FOR ALMOST ALL MY LIFE AND IT'S A FUN PLACE TO LIVE THE WEATHER IS GOOD Probably the best thing of living in St Louis is that you can fly to other destinations for low prices! I know that Southwest Airlines offers excellent airfares to destinations around the USA at low prices. There is a website www.USA3000.com that offers flights into Florida for $69 each way. I also enjoy the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and it is a beautiful area for camping and float trips along crystal clear riverways. The climate is not too bad and it does get bitter cold sometimes in winter months but since I have moved here from Key West Florida a couple years ago it has had mild winters and not as bad as I thought it would be.The Intertates in and around St Louis are under construction and it is miserable during rush hours. There are alot of excellent dining establishments and plenty of places to see&do. I miss living in Key West but it is an ok city to live and I enjoy it here.I belong to some Yahoo Groups that are fun meeting other people from the St Louis area and you can visit my Yahoo 360 page for more info. If you don't like the weather in St. Louis Missouri > stick around for a day it will change! Lots of things to do! Traffic it not so good! Over All St. Louis - Rocks! |
