I am moving to the Wentzville, Missouri area...Should I live there or in one of the other small towns nearby? |
Travel Info I will be moving there in mid June and have only been through the area once or twice...What can you tell me about what it's like to live there and visit...Should I live in Wentzville or one of the other smaller towns in the area? What would be the best small town nearby to live in if not Wentzville? I come from a small rural town in Michigan...I don't think I want to live in a large city. Is there much crime?...Are there things to do? Travel Tips Wentzville is okay. It's really growing. So is St.Charles. There's a lot to do on hwy. k. And O'fallon isn't far. I recently worked at Mid Rivers Mall in St.Peters. It was alright. I moved, that's why I quit. I didn't live in that area though. I lived farther North...towards Hannible. If you ask me, Wentzville, St.Charles, O'Fallon, and St.Peters all look the same. O'fallon is the biggest out of the 4. I think. BUT, I'm real fond of Chesterfield. It's across the bridge. It has some cool places. Nice homes, nice parks (Queeny Park is great!), and the West County Mall isn't far from there. It's one of the best malls around that area. My opinion. My husband and I lived there for 2 yrs. and absolutely loved it! Troy isn't far from Wentzville. It's pretty small. I lived there for quite a while. I'd say check out Chesterfield. It's a nicer area. Just keep your options open. Wentzville is okay though. Good luck. Oh, and no there's not much crime.. but it's not the safest place. Chesterfield has a better reputation.. as far as safety goes. But it's because of the type of people that live there. What city is safe though? They all have there good and bad. Others Just stick to your own destination, Wentzville instead of the small crime. I hear that if you go to a small town it has more likely to have less crimes though. It really is a nice place. I live on the Kansas side of Kansas City, but I pass through there on I70 on my way to Philadelphia. Fun place to stop and have lunch, take photos, etc. P.S. Don't speed on I70. I got a nice 93 in a 70 in Wentzville last year. =( I think Wentzville is a nice place. Not a huge place, but not a tiny place either. I think you might like it there. Wentzville would be nice for you since you are used to a smaller town area to live. It is not in the middle of the countryside, the area of growth is spreading like wildfire out from St. Louis. Crime is probably just like anywhere else, nothing too bad that I have seen in the papers. Housing costs will be a little better than closer into the city as well. Goo dluck and welcome to the area !
