What is there to do on a short trip to st louis? |
Travel Info I'm heading there today with my brother, his wife and young son. We were thinking of the City Museum, but what else? Neat places to see, maybe something/someplace to keep cool? Recommend any hotels in safe walking areas near the museum? Travel Tips Today there wil be much disarray around the arch. The Fair St Louis is just winding down. I would suggest the City museum as you stated and the St louis Zoo. The weather should be great for the zoo (not too hot). There is also the science center which is really cool, and there is a Sports Exhibit going on right now that I would highly reccommend. Its in the exploradome. My husband loved it! If you want to see a cool Mall, you could always go to St Louis Mills. It is outside of the city, but out of town people always like to see it. There isn't too much around there in walking distance of the City Museum for a hotel. The Mayfair is a few blocks away (maybe a half mile), and is beuatiful. There also the hotels around the convention center (at Washington Ave). They will be a little pricey, but nice as well. We have stayed at a few for weddings and they have all been in the $110 a night range. They will all pretty much be about a half a mile or so to walk to the City Museum. Hope this helps! Source(s): I live there! Other Travel Tips Go to the arch and the zoo. so much. what is a short ? try the kids space center, union station, etc... VISIT THE ARCH! Ok, unless you have a severe fear of heights or claustrophobia. (The ride to the top is VERY cramped.) Other than that, you really should visit the Gateway Arch, it offers a SPECTACULAR view of Downtown St. Louis and the Mississippi. Also, try a tour of the new Busch stadium, if it's completed. :) try and catch a cardinals game(if you can get tickets). the zoo is good. also a tour of the bud brewery is really cool even if you arent into beer. tickets to any show at the fox would be high on the list and maybe tickets to a muny show at forest park. dinner at some nice place on the hill or in soulard. or dinner downtown at tony's(make a reservation). Visit the arch, the Budweiser horses, and go to a blues club along the river. |
