Any must see places in St Louis? |
Travel Info My girlfriend and I are taking a road trip to St. Louis and are looking for any recommendations for hotels and attractions. We are planning on seeing the arch, brewery, and the zoo so far. Are there any others? Good bars also? Travel Tips If you are coming here in October there are TONS of haunted houses. Six Flags Fright Fest isn't good for scare-factor but the rides are fun. The Darkness is really creepy. There is also the Lemp Manison. If you aren't too afraid of heights there is this place called The City Museum (citymuseum.org) and they have this big structure outside you can climb on-- it's really fun. On some nights they also have live music and adult "party" type deals there. There is also the Botanical Gardens-- beautiful flowers and such there. As for eating out: There are many italian places on "The Hill", you can basically just drive down there and take your pick. For mexican there is Hacienda in Rock Hill-- it's very good. For greek there is Olympia. (you can look up all of these and more at stltoday.com -- go to the entertianment section.) Oh, and for bars and clubs you should just go down to Washington Street or Laclede's Landing. Tons of them there. (you can look those up at stltoday.com--entertianment section as well) Others St. loius suckkssss dont go there..... you are slck look at a ******* map If you're coming here in October, there's Fright Fest at Six Flags. I also recommend the Science Center, the U. City Loop, and the City Museum. As for bars, you'll probably find something you like in Soulard or Laclede's Landing. Ted Drews Ice Cream shop Union Station a Motel - shopping center Fast Eddie's in Alton IL just 10-15 Minutes away a Bar with food PT's a East St Louis Strip Club If everyone is up to this Bass Pro Shop if into Hunting and Outdoors stuff Ride the Metro Link Cahokia Indian Mounds Lemp Mansion Grants Farm Botanical Gardens, Forest Park, "The Hill" real Italian neighborhood, the Zoo is free, tour the Anheiser-Busch brewery, new Busch Stadium, Jefferson Memorial (aka the Arch). Harrahs and Ameristar casinos if you like , come over to Illinois and go to Pere Marquette state park, the fall colors and the bluffs are beautiful, take the ferry across the Mississippi to Grafton, the Loading Dock resturant and bar is right on the confluence of the MS and IL rivers, then go to Alton along the Great River road. Make sure when u go to the arch to see the video on how it was built;it is below the arch;kind of boring video yet interesting u could also go to the Ulysses S.Grant home that was kinda cool |
